Terms of Service for Karma Mail
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Karma Mail application ("Karma Mail"), offered by Compiler Inc. ("Compiler," "we," "our," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Karma Mail.
2. Purpose of Karma Mail
Karma Mail is a karma-ranked email client that prioritizes real humans over bots, cold outreach, and AI-generated spam through a sophisticated reputation system. Karma Mail analyzes sender information, interaction patterns, and community feedback to automatically organize your inbox into Signal (important), Triage (unknown), and Noise (spam) categories. Karma Mail does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice.
3. User Eligibility & Conduct
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Karma Mail. Users under 18 need parent or guardian consent. You agree to provide accurate information and use Karma Mail only for lawful, personal purposes. You will not misuse, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service.
4. Data Privacy
Information you supply—such as email metadata, interaction patterns, contact details, and usage metrics—is encrypted in transit and at rest. Data is processed solely to deliver karma scoring, email filtering, and organizational features. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers. Email content may be processed transiently for spam detection and karma scoring but is not stored permanently. You may request deletion at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
5. Intellectual Property
All trademarks, logos, code, text, and other content within Karma Mail are the property of Compiler Inc. or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.
6. Subscription & Fees
If Karma Mail offers paid plans, all pricing, billing cycles, refund policies, and cancellation procedures will be disclosed at purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
7. Disclaimers
Karma Mail is provided "as-is" and "as-available" without warranties of any kind. Karma scores and email filtering decisions may not be perfect. You are responsible for verifying important information and reviewing filtered emails as needed.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compiler Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of Karma Mail.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Compiler Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims or demands arising out of your use of Karma Mail or violation of these Terms.
10. Modifications to Service & Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Karma Mail—or these Terms—at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms or harmful activity. Upon termination, your license to use Karma Mail ends immediately.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in San Francisco County, California.
